The President pointed out that the success of the athletics events at the African Games wasn’t a last-minute thing; it was the result of three years of hard work that started back in 2021. This preparation involved training technical officials, teaching technicians how to use electronic systems, and working closely with contractors to get a high-quality running surface. The team got help from the CAA and World Athletics to train their officials. All this careful planning paid off, leading to a super organized event with live results and excellent timing systems which drew massive crowd that caught the attention of broadcasters like SuperSport, who weren’t originally planning to cover it.
A major concern for many of Africa’s top athletes has always been the organization, logistics, and accommodations at past championships. The President of Ghana Athletics tackled these issues head-on, promising that Ghana will deliver a world-class experience to draw in all of Africa’s top talents. He assured everyone that athletes will stay in hotels just a short walk (about 600 meters) from the stadium, with shuttle buses also available to make travel a breeze. To keep things running smoothly, technical officials will also be housed in a hotel right next to the stadium, preventing any delays
